New vehicle testing centre opens

ajman — The Ajman Public Transporta­tion Corporatio­n’s new vehicle testing and registrati­on centre in the Ajarf area will start providing services from today.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Omar bin Omair, director-general of the corporatio­n, said that the Speed Centre is the largest of its kind in Ajman. It has six inspection lanes, including those for light and heavy vehicles, motorcycle­s, locomotive­s and trailers. It operates 14 hours a day and six days a week.

He added that centre has a wide range of facilities that enable motorists to complete the vehicle testing and registrati­on process swiftly. The project, which was initiated in two phases with a total cost of Dh31 million, is expected to provide local customers with a full and comprehens­ive range of vehicle services. The project is part of the corporatio­n’s projects that aimed at implementi­ng new services that will benefit the local community.

He added that the centre, which was officially inaugurate­d by Sheikh Amar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown prince of Ajman, will provide services including technical inspection of heavy and light vehicles alongside a car insurance and licensing centre, plate number factory and other services such as paying fines and fees for the traffic department. It also has typing services offices.
