PTI to move apex court against Asif Zardari with new evidence

-

islamabad — Leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khurram Sher Zaman on Thursday withdrew the petition he had filed with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking disqualification of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the concealment of assets case.

During a hearing at the commission, the PTI MPA said that he had found a new evidence against Asif Zardari and intended to move the Supreme Court.

Talking to media outside the ECP office, the PTI leader said the had verified documents against Zardari and the PTI was ready to approach the top court to take the case to a logical conclusion.

“We requested the ECP to allow us to take this matter to the Supreme Court.”

It is pertinent to mention that the PTI leader had filed a petition with the ECP seeking Asif Ali Zardari’s disqualification for allegedly not declaring a flat he owned in the United States in his assets form submitted with the EC.

The plea maintained that the New York property was not mentioned by Asif Zardari in the asset details he had submitted with the election commission.

It pointed out that concealing assets comes under article 62 (1) (f) of the constitution and that since Zardari violated the law he should be declared disqualified. —

The PTI has verified documents. Asif Zardari will not be spared. We will approach the top court. We will bring the case to a logical conclusion Khurram Sher Zaman,

PTI leader
