Join KT in a desert drive next month
dubai — Khaleej Times, the UAE’s first English daily, is taking you on a family drive across the rolling dunes of the country.
Slated for February 15, the event called Khaleej Times Desert Drive offers families, adventurers and new off-road drivers the thrill of bashing the dunes on self-driven 4X4s, with marshals leading the convoy and ensuring participants’ safety.
Trading Enterprises Jeep has announced their support as the lead sponsor. “Jeep is synonymous with off-roading in the region and we are excited to partner with Khaleej Times for the Desert Drive, a perfect showcase for our range’s capabilities. To experience the unknown and take the road less travelled is what Jeep brand’s ‘Go Anywhere’ spirit is all about. With the launch of the all-new Wrangler JL, we have expanded our off-road capability and look forward to its inherent ability to support the association of Trading Enterprises Jeep team with Khaleej
Times,” said Eric Benavente, managing director, Trading Enterprises Jeep.
While some think of an offroad adventure as a once-in-alifetime experience, people in the UAE consider it part of Arabian living, said Vicky Kapur, executive editor of Khaleej Times.
“Off-roading in the desert is not just a hobby for UAE residents, it’s a lifestyle. Khaleej
Times Desert Drive spawns from this thought of bringing together off-roading enthusiasts and adventure lovers. Jeep and off-roading go hand in hand, so we are pleased to have Trading Enterprises Jeep on board as the lead sponsor. The drive has been designed with different difficulty levels to cater to all types of participants.”
Over 1,000 participants are expected to embark on a sevenhour adventure, which will be followed by an all-inclusive dinner and live entertainment.
