Why innovation is key in acquiring the right talent
dubai — Finding the right talent will be increasingly important as the UAE sets off on its path towards becoming an innovative and knowledge-based economy, experts at the 23rd GCC HR Management in the Era of Knowledge Conference said.
The event brought together various experts, who explored the latest developments in the human resources sector, and highlighted new trends and technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
These technologies are increasingly set to impact every industry and the strategies revolving around the role of HR in transforming the workplace into sustainable organisations. Experts also looked at the various challenges that will be associated with talent management and the creation of future jobs.
Ali Al Kamali, managing director of Datamatix Consultancy, said that the event was in line with the vision of the wise rulers of the UAE leading the country towards greater prosperity. “The conference and its participants will support the ‘Fifty Year Charter’ and the ‘8 Principles of Dubai’ initiatives launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, helping to realise these development goals in practice.”
“The UAE will recruit the best talent to work on exceptional projects and development initiatives for the future, helping to build an economic
model based on creativity and modern innovation. The conference will also focus on opportunities for cultivating and empowering human resources,” he added.
Experts at the event also discussed the future of job creation and which skills will become a necessity for jobseekers. HR managers, they said, will have to stay updated with the latest technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to ensure that their talent acquisition strategies are aligned with the vision of their organisations in an increasingly digital world. Failure to do so will create uncertainty and result in lower competitiveness in the market.
