Sharif must be offered best possible treatment: Bilawal

lahore — Former premier Nawaz Sharif should be given the best possible treatment for his medical issues, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said. Bilawal held a meeting with Sharif in Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore on Monday.

Addressing the media outside the jail, the PPP chairman said that “the country can only progress with democracy,” adding that, the main focus of the meeting was inquiring about Sharif ’s health.

Our visit was not for any alliance, very early to talk about alliance, the PPP leader said.

Bilawal lamented that it was the failure of PPP and PML-N that the Non Reconcilia­tion Ordinance (NRO) was not implemente­d fully. “There should be a solution regarding the weaknesses the plague the

system.” “The PPP is ready to work with government on important matters such as foreign policy, security and economy,” he said.

Bilawal also hit out at finance minister Asad Umar for criticisin­g his speech in the National Assembly, saying that: “I don’t know why Asad Umar was disappoint­ed when

I spoke in English,” adding that the foreign minister also delivered his speech in English.

Bilawal was accompanie­d by Qamar Zaman Kaira, senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokar and political secretary Jameel Soomro during his visit to the Kot Lakhpat prison in Lahore. —
