OPen Minds Rising as a phoenix with a bright radiance and hope at hand

- AnithA pAdAnAttil

Climbing up from an abyss is a tough job. The abyss I am talking about here, are the situations most women find themselves in.

Now, narrow these down to a rather distinct and common zone which is a predicament most women find themselves in after marriage when they are forced to don their aprons and swaddle a teething infant about their hips all the while wondering just how and why life has dealt them a blank card they had never encountered.

Yes, at this juncture, their education ceases to matter along with the fact that a successful career was tossed away to accommodate newer needs, help deliver a few brownie points. All that lies ahead are the tasks that have to be completed day in and out — the ones that are considered menial. There might or might not be someone to lend a helping hand but being designated the CIC or Commander-In-Chief of an exclusive stronghold essentially means that the lady of the house has to run her tiny kingdom most efficiently.

Hence she scrubs, cleans, cooks and does the laundry plus, manages the schedules of her little ones that may or may not include adults within the territory. The luxury of sitting back to reflect upon something becomes a thing of the past.

How then does she beat a path up towards light? The multitasker is then forced to check out beacons to help restore their sense of purpose in life.

The struggle to sustain would be painful and recriminations deep, but the tears are worth the while. For the woman, rather ‘the homemaker’, the gradual turn to becoming a game changer would prove an uphill task. Recognition of the said calibre is measured at first, but as she gains access into an unfamiliar terrain, the rise from the ashes into partPhoenix would emanate the brightest radiance. Allowing hope to be a part of the cycle will make the journey easier. WRITE TO US AT
