Avivo launches women initiative

-

dubai — As the UAE celebrated the empowerment that 2.65 million females enjoy in the Gulf country, a handful of medical professionals were busy raising awareness about the 34 symptoms of menopause — a key phase of every woman’s life and a core component of her health — on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

Discussion on menopause — which generally affects women between the age group of 40 and 50 years — was hosted as part of the Women 34 Clinic campaign launched by Avivo Group to clear misconceptions that are generally linked to the sudden changes in the body functioning due to the natural ageing process.

Dr Dilshaad Ali, CEO of Avivo Group, said: “Investing in our community is a great way to give back to those who have helped support us throughout our journey. Every Woman is special, so is her Health and this International Women’s Day, Avivo Group has launched Women 34 Clinic with an objective to raise awareness on the 34 symptoms of menopause among women in their 40s and 50s.”

Dr Vaishali Joshi, specialist obs and gynae at PrimaCare Specialty Clinic in Dubai, said: “Let’s understand that menopause is not a pause in your life. Typical menopause symptoms, such as hot flashes or night sweats, are caused by changing hormone levels in the female reproductive system. Almost all women notice these symptoms in their 40s and 50s. The Women 34 Clinic campaign will benefit most of the women population under the age group of 40 to 50 years in the UAE.”
