RTA signs pacts with varsities to boost AI, research
dubai — A new agreement has been signed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai with Canadian UniversityDubai (CUD) and the University of Sharjah (UoS) to enhance cooperation in academic affairs, training, scholarships, scientific research and artificial intelligence.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) will also hone the skills of the RTA employees and support the academic path of university students..
Yousif AlReda, CEO of corporate administrative support services sector, signed the agreement on behalf of the RTA while Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, chairman of the board of trustees of CUD, signed on behalf of the university; and Prof. Dr. Muammar Baltayeb, deputy director for scientific research and graduate studies, signed for UoS.
“The signing of the MoUs will boost the cooperation between the RTA and the universities in scientific fields, envisioning the future, innovation and training. It fits well with the principle to make Dubai a rich ground for intellectuals and innovators,” said AlReda.
“The RTA will associate the names of the two universities with the academic programmes offered to employees along with links for study options available to employees. RTA will also provide internships for university students and recruit them in vacancies, as needed,” he added.
The MoUs also provide for the two universities to admit nominated employees to academic and executive programmes as per the applicable admission requirements. These universities also pledged to offer discounts on tuition fees for admitted employees, and invite the RTA to take part in Career Fairs.
