WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE WORLD’S GREATEST SHOW
Preparations are in full swing for the 173-day Expo, set to take place in Dubai from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021.
Pavilions are rising. Route 2020 is nearing completion. Construction projects are moving like clockwork — all for “the world’s greatest show”.
At least 192 countries are set to bring their people, talent, culture and skills to Dubai, making the emirate a global icon. For the first time at a World Expo, each country will have their own pavilion where they can showcase their heritage, cuisine, innovations and ideas.
And instead of being grouped based on their geographical locations, countries will be placed according to their chosen subtheme — Opportunity, Mobility or Sustainability. This will encourage greater collaboration with nations that share common challenges and goals.
The UAE pavilion will introduce visitors to the nation’s rich culture and bright future.
Designed in the shape of a falcon in flight, it will tell the history of the nation as a connected global hub, and the vision of its leaders to create a peaceful and progressive society, with ambitious plans for the future.
Expo to offer a unique and exciting visitor experience.
There will be something for everyone — whether you are on a family vacation, on a business trip, a foodie looking forward to tasting something new, or even an avid concert-goer.
Visitors can enjoy 60-plus live events per day: Music, dance, art, sports and wellness, live talks, business. Savour more than 50 cuisines from around the world at 200 food and beverage outlets.
It will also offer a glimpse of the future of travel, with the hyperloop in the US pavilion.
And for those who are after an ‘out-of-this-world’ experience, they can seize the chance to become part of a ‘Mars mission’, in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre.
