I have registered my car (Abu Dhabi toll:

Motorists face issues with registration KT, Oct 11) with the authorities to use the toll gate system. This is how I went about it. Create an account on the Abu Dhabi police services website where you will have to feed in your Emirates ID to register. The AD police will send an OTP (one time password) on the number associated with the Emirates ID.

The important point is to check your phone number on the Abu Dhabi police website to see if the numbers are the same. If not, visit the Department of Traffic or Licensing to update the mobile number. Ensure you carry your license, vehicle registration card and Emirates ID with you. I hope this information helps other readers and allow them to register for toll without any hassle. —Khan Aamer, KT Website

More rules for online transactions The news, Scammers skim Dh1.2 million from

trader’s account in Dubai (KT, Oct 13) came as a shock. I feel banks can take some precautionary measures to safeguard users against such frauds. For instance, online transactions of more that Dh50,000 should not be allowed. Banks should make it mandatory for customers to be present in person at the bank to do transactions. It might seem inconvenient, but it will save us from trouble. —Khalid Sultan, KT Website AI should help prevent accidents Artificial Intelligence or innovative technology can definitely offer solutions that can help ensure the safety and security of passengers. Human error is unpredictable. However, if buses are equipped with sensors, it would help drivers stay more alert (Tech, not minibus ban, can prevent accidents in UAE: Expert, KT, Oct 13). Such features are a standard in cars, so why not include them for buses, too. —Anish, KT Website *Proper lane barricades will help reduce traffic and maintain lane discipline. Most of the time, people don’t follow lane markings, they simply swerve without indicators. This is a simple and cheap solution rather than investing time and money to curb people’s behaviour. —Chandrasen Moura, KT Website
