The Huawei nova 5T raises the bar for content creators on the move David Wang, Huawei Consumer Business Group’s UAE country manager

DUBAI — Huawei on Tuesday presented its idea of a future driven by artificial intelligence-powered connectivity, taking advantage of what it calls a ‘Seamless AI Life Strategy’ that takes advantage of smart devices backed by rapidlyimproving technologies.

The company — the world’s largest telecom gear manufacturer and makers of the flagship P and Mate smartphone series — says its plan for the ‘hyperconnected era’ revolves around the interconnection of smartphones, wearables, smart homes and offices, cloud services, the Internet of Everything and immersion communications.

“In the next 10 years, the most exciting change in the consumer sector is the Internet of Everything and natural interaction, and AI redefines

the consumer experience,” it said in a release.

“Huawei believes that AI is the main accelerator in building a fully-connected and intelligent world; the development of AI technology has now reached a new era.”

New products

At its Dubai offices, Shenzhenheadquartered Huawei introduced new products for the strategy, including the WiFi Q2 Pro, its new whole-home Wi-Fi system that will anchor connectivity. The company says that the device — with one base and two satellite units — will be able to support up to 192 devices connected simultaneously, everything from smartphones and computers to appliances and fixtures to security and vehicles.

Huawei’s goal, it added, is to create an ‘all-scenario intelligent lifestyle’ based on AI and create an intelligent industry ecosystem based on an open platform.

At the same event, the company also revealed its next mid-tier smartphone, the nova 5T — which is powered by Google’s Android operating system. It boasts gaming capabilitie sand five AI cameras — four of which are on the system at the back led by a 48MP main sensor — meant to support creativity. Its is powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, the same one used in the high-end Mate 20 and P30 series.

“This is the perfect partner for consumers who want to share the best of themselves,” David Wang, Huawei Consumer Business Group’s UAE country manager, said in a statement.

“The Huawei nova 5T raises the bar for content creators on the move,” he said.

Also introduced were the Huawei Watch GT 2, which has improved battery life and upgraded health and productivity functions; the FreeBuds 3, Huawei’s truly-wireless headset, which has the company’s first chip designed for the ‘hearable and wearable’ market, the Kirin A1, and whose case has wireless charging capabilities; and the Smart Scale, which is able to read nine body compositions in one go.”
