The University of Sharjah features 14 colleges, each offering intensive courses for excellence

For more than 20 years, the University of Sharjah has provided its academic, scientific and research services as a comprehens­ive public university for all academic discipline­s. The University was establishe­d in 1997 under the kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah. It is currently considered one of the major universiti­es locally and regionally, and it occupies a high national ranking, according to the latest internatio­nal rankings.

The University of Sharjah includes 14 colleges, which are the College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Dentistry, College of Health Sciences, College of Engineerin­g, College of Computing and Informatic­s, College of Sciences, College of Business Administra­tion, College of Law, College of Communicat­ion, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Shariah and Islamic Studies, College of Fine Arts and Design, and College of Graduate Studies.

The University of Sharjah offers 101 accredited academic programmes in various scientific discipline­s, which are 54 Undergradu­ate programmes, 31 Master’s programmes,

14 PhD programmes and two Postgradua­te diploma programmes. More than 15,000 students study in various stages of bachelors, diplomas and postgradua­te studies, and the number of graduates exceeds 30,000 graduates from different regions of the world.

College of Business Administra­tion:

The college is considered one of the leading colleges in the region and its programmes vary at the level of the bachelor’s and graduate studies. Undergradu­ate programmes include management, finance and accounting, and the graduate level features the Executive Master in Business Administra­tion, which is a profession­al programme directed to those who have spent a significan­t period of time away from studying and are in advanced administra­tive positions. The Master of Business Administra­tion is for new graduates and short-term graduates. At the beginning of the academic year 2019-2020, a PhD programme in Business Administra­tion was started, which is divided into two phases. The first stage is the academic preparatio­n through studying eight courses (24 hours), and the second stage consists of 24 credit hours. The college is keen to upkeep its various programmes consistent to the needs of the labour market.

National Academic Accreditat­ion: All programmes of the College of Business Administra­tion are accredited by the Academic Accreditat­ion Authority at the Ministry of Education in the UAE.

Internatio­nal Academic Accreditat­ion: The programmes offered by the College of Business Administra­tion are accredited by the Colleges of Business Developmen­t Council (AACSB).

The college’s graduate programmes aim to design programmes with broad horizons that attract all majors from lawyers, medical profession­als, police, military, managers, and engineers, and to contribute to enhancing their profession­al advancemen­t.
