Mentioning that 11 different relief flights were flown to Central Asia, Far East, the Middle East and Canada, he said these flights also included destinations where PIA does not have a regular flight operation.

Under this operation, relief as well as chartered flights were being operated to and from

Pakistan with some nine more flights scheduled from April 15 to April 19.

Sharing details of these flights, PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez said the national flag carrier would operate a special flight from Karachi to Indonesia’s capital Jakarta on April 18. Two special flights will be operated to Toronto from Islamabad and Karachi on April 15 and 19, respectively.

The PIA will operate a special flight from Islamabad to Manchester on April 17/18.

Two special flights, PK-8852 and PK-8894, which had been planned to operate from Islamabad to South Korea’s capital Seoul on April 17, have been cancelled due to elections in South Korea.

A special flight will repatriate stranded Pakistanis from Jakarta on April 18. Another flight on April 20, PK-784, from Toronto to Karachi will repatriate Pakistanis stranded in Canada.

He said Pakistani nationals stuck abroad can approach Pakistan embassies and also contact PIA call centre, PIA booking office or its website to purchase tickets. —
