abu dhabi — Now, children in Abu Dhabi can be vaccinated in a new drive-thru facility launched by the Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS).

Introduced as part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus, the child vaccination drive-through service enables visitors of select Seha healthcare centers to get their child vaccinated without having to step out of their cars.

To avail of the service, patients need to call a number prior to or upon their arrival to the clinic.

They will then be guided through a triaging process to determine whether the service can be provided in the car, following which they will be registered and a suitable medical team will be sent out to provide the service.

“There is no doubt that some may feel anxious or reluctant to visit the healthcare centres. That is why we designed this service to provide child vaccinations without the need for the parents to leave car thus encouraging them to ensure their adherence to the National Immunisation Programme,” said Dr Noura Al Ghaithi, chief operations officer at AHS.

The child vaccination drivethru service is now available in 10 healthcare centres across Abu Dhabi city; Al Bateen, Zafaranah Diagnostic and Screening Center, Mushrif Children’s Specialty Center, Madinat Mohamed bin Zayed, Madinat Khalifa, Baniyas, Al Bahia, Al Falah, and Al Samha. In Al Ain city, the clinic is available at Oud Al Touba Diagnostic and Screening Center, Al Hili, Mezyad, Neima, Al Jahili, Al Yahar, Al Qua, Al Muwaiji, Al Towayya Children’s Specialty Center, and Al Hayer.

Patients are advised to call 80050 for appointments.
