600 Pak medics to help Kuwait combat Covid-19
islamabad — Pakistan would send 600 health professionals to Kuwait to assist the Gulf state in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, said special assistant to the prime minister on overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari.
“It has been decided in principle that 600 health workers, including doctors and nurses, will be sent to Kuwait at the request of Kuwaiti authorities,” Bukhari said while addressing the Pakistani community in Kuwait in a teleconference.
The move would further strengthen relations between the two countries, Bukhari said.
He informed the participants of the virtual town hall meeting that four special flights would be operated to repatriate more than 5,550 Pakistanis stranded in Kuwait in the next two weeks.
The country has improved its repatriation capacity and at the moment is capable of bringing back around 12,000 stranded Pakistanis every week, Bukhari added.

of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development would soon launch a web portal to record the data of returning nationals.
They would be registered under the government’s flagship projects — Kamyab Jawan Programme and Hunarmand Pakistan — for employment, he added.
Bukhari said he would soon contact the labour authorities in Kuwait to ensure free extension in visas of Pakistani nationals there. —
