Rivoli EyeZone launches new initiative for healthcare workers
dubai — Rivoli EyeZone, the eyewear retail brand of the Rivoli Group, recently launched its #VisionCareForHeroes initiative to express its gratitude to the Healthcare sector frontliners. Through this initiative, Rivoli EyeZone is providing complimentary highquality optical lenses to all doctors, nurses, paramedics and other healthcare staff.
Ramesh Prabhakar, managing partner and vice-chairman of the Rivoli Group, said: “As a retail group that has always supported the community at large, we want to particularly thank and honor every healthcare worker during these unprecedented times, who are working hard on the frontline to keep the entire country safe. Our gesture to gift optical lenses to all healthcare staff is just a small token of appreciation for everything that these services are doing.”
Speaking more about the initiative, Sujay Dangi, vice-president of Vision Care, said: “Being in the vision care sector, I am aware of the strain that long hours of work can have on the eyes. As healthcare workers continue to balance work and family time via gadgets such as mobile phones, their screen time has drastically increased. Being a respected brand in the region for the last four decades, Rivoli wanted
to do something for these personnel who are risking their lives for the country. Thus, we decided to provide them with complimentary high-quality blue block optical lenses to protect their eyes from digital eye strain.’’
The complimentary lenses Include single vision lenses for the young and progressive multifocal lenses for the 40 plus age group who also need reading correction.
Besides providing high quality lenses, Rivoli EyeZone also offers comprehensive eye test (CET) with a 20-point check-up procedure for customers including optical accuracy for the eye glasses and a detailed eye health checkup. With these tests, eye ailments such as cataract can be detected and further referred to eye surgeons.
Dangi reiterated: “Most opticians conduct eye tests which are for getting the power of the eyeglasses but we have chosen to be comprehensive to address optical accuracy and eye health as well, hence, providing a CET and great quality lenses is fundamental for an expert optician like ours.”
Making a note of the current Covid-19 scenario, he added that Rivoli has taken extensive steps to up the ante on hygiene. “These measures are relevant today. We are also following WHO recommendations such as having chin rest in all the machines well-sanitised and using alcohol swabs to clean our testing kits. We have installed special protective shields in our eye testing equipment and use new generation technology for contact less measurements like digital Eye-Ruler 2. Regular sanitisation procedures are carried out every morning,” Dangi pointed out.
As part of the #VisionCareForHeroes campaign, healthcare sector workers simply have to walk in with their ID card to any of our Rivoli EyeZone stores in the UAE to avail their complimentary optical lenses. While some of their stores are yet to open up in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah, healthcare workers can write to wecare@rivolieyezone.com and within a day, receive guidelines to get their complimentary optical lenses.
