The summer activities being conducted remotely due to the Covid-19 situation are targeting various groups of society including parents, students and workers with the aim to effectively utilise their summer time to develop their capabilities and skills.
The municipality said all activities, programmes, competitions and meetings are accessed through their smart application in cooperation with a number of strategic partners represented by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Barin Hospital, volunteers, Happy Land School, Special Skills School, Abu
Dhabi Autism Centre, Darwish Bin Karam School, Jovit Academy.
Among the summer programmes are the “Information You Care” initiative, which is a message sent to families on a weekly basis and involves sports and cultural information to enhance the sporting aspect and encourage parents to practise sports. Also the “Reading a Story” initiative, which is about reading a purposeful story (live) with students to encourage them to read and ask questions at the end of the programme.
Another initiative is the ‘We participated in community school programmes’, which is a sports entertainment programme by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council through community schools. Weekly sports questions are posted through an online link and students send answers via messages.
