Summer programmes for Abu Dhabi students

abu dhabi — The Abu Dhabi Municipali­ty will organise summer programmes and sports activities for students and parents in the Madinat Zayed area during summer to develop their skills.

The summer activities being conducted remotely due to the Covid-19 situation are targeting various groups of society including parents, students and workers with the aim to effectivel­y utilise their summer time to develop their capabiliti­es and skills.

The municipali­ty said all activities, programmes, competitio­ns and meetings are accessed through their smart applicatio­n in cooperatio­n with a number of strategic partners represente­d by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Barin Hospital, volunteers, Happy Land School, Special Skills School, Abu

Dhabi Autism Centre, Darwish Bin Karam School, Jovit Academy.

Among the summer programmes are the “Informatio­n You Care” initiative, which is a message sent to families on a weekly basis and involves sports and cultural informatio­n to enhance the sporting aspect and encourage parents to practise sports. Also the “Reading a Story” initiative, which is about reading a purposeful story (live) with students to encourage them to read and ask questions at the end of the programme.

Another initiative is the ‘We participat­ed in community school programmes’, which is a sports entertainm­ent programme by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council through community schools. Weekly sports questions are posted through an online link and students send answers via messages.
