Avoid gatherings on Eid to contain virus: Cleric

Council of Islamic Ideology chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz on Friday said the announcement of Prime Minster Imran Khan to avoid gatherings on Eid Al Adha should be declared as a state policy. He said that local administrations should be instructed to take action against elements involved in violation of health guidelines, Radio Pakistan reported. He said on Eid Al Fitr a large number of people violated the guidelines of that resulted in a spike in number of coronavirus cases. —
