abu dhabi — In a bid to support local products and farmers, LuLu Hypermarkets recently launched the Emaraat Awwal (Emirates First) initiative across its outlets in the country.
The initiative was virtually inaugurated in the presence of Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, director of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi; Sami Al Qamzi, director-general of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development; Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Amri, director-general of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety; Omar Bushahab, chairman of the Dubai Food Security Committee; and Yusuffali MA, chairman of LuLu Group.
Al Shorafa, Al Qamzi and Al Ameri praised the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the LuLu Group for its contribution to supporting economy and developing the UAE’s agricultural sector.
Yusuffali noted that the group will regularly organise events and campaigns to increase the market share of Emirati products. “This would strengthen the sectors of agriculture and local industry, which are key to food security for the nation,” he added.
LuLu Hypermarket works closely with a large number of local organisations to market their products and provide support with training, management of operations, packaging and marketing, in addition to distinctive display sites across its LuLu stores.
