Summary finalised for expats court
islamabad — The government is moving forward with its plan to set up the first-ever ‘fast-track’ court in the federal capital to ensure speedy retrieval of expatriates’ properties from land grabbers.
The project has entered final stages as the Ministry of Law and Justice is set to finalise a summary by approving the definition of an ‘Overseas Pakistani’, an official in the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development said on Thursday.
After finalisation of the summary, a final draft would be presented before the federal cabinet and parliament for approval, he added.
The official said that the summary was submitted to the law ministry by the OP&HRD a couple of months ago on the instruction of special assistant to the prime minister on overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari.
“Main objective of the initiative is the swift retrieval of valuable properties of Pakistanis living abroad from mafias and bring them to justice,” Zulfikar Bukhari said in an interview recently. —
