Both pilots passed away at hospital
dubai — Injured victims of the flight crash late on Friday were rushed to medical facilities close to the Calicut International Airport.
Ameer Eranjikkal, partner of Kondotty Relief Hospital and Trauma Care Centre, which is located next to the airport, confirmed to Khaleej
Times that there are two bodies at the hospital.
“We have 15 patients admitted here and all of them are almost stable. Five people need surgeries and have been moved to operation theatre. Rest of them have minor injuries,” he said.
Eranjikkal said they have referred around 15 people to hospitals in Kozhikode as they required emergency expert care for severe injuries. Most of them had head injuries after the accident, he added. “Captain Deepak Vasant Sathe and co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar passed away at our hospital,” Farhan Yasin, CEO of Aster MIMS Hospital – Kozhikode and Kannur, told Khaleej Times over the phone from Kerala.
At 10pm on Friday, 38 flight casualties
were admitted to the hospital in Kozhikode operated by Dubaibased Aster Healthcare.
“We sent 20 ambulances to the airport. There are 10 patients in critical condition with head and serious injuries. All neurosurgeons and ortho surgeons are handling the cases. Few emergency cases are in the operation theatre,” he said.
