DubaiNow to expand reach
dubai — Smart dubai’s dubaiNow platform, which allows access to more than 120 government and private-sector services from over 30 entities, will soon add new services to expand its digital economy agenda.
among the three new services are the dubai Land department’s (dLd) title deed verification, which allows users to verify any deed in dubai with or without verifying the owner’s name; a Roads and Transport authority (RTa) service that allows users to manage their Salik accounts, with features including viewing and managing vehicles, updating contact information, viewing violations and raising disputes; and one for the dubai Health authority.
Currently, the city services on dubaiNow can be classified into 12 different categories: bills, mobile, driving, housing, residency, health, education, police, travel, islam, donations and general.
Smart dubai revealed that the flagship mobile app had processed a quarter of a million transactions in June alone. it also processed more than 10 million transactions in total with a total value of processed transactions exceeding dh5 billion.
The uaE’s digital transformation agenda is aggressively being pursued as the nation marches ahead to build a strong and resilient digital economy.
“Our journey towards digitisation is not new but has been ongoing and expanding since the formation of dubai E-Government in 2000, which is now the technology arm of Smart dubai,” Smart dubai CEO Wesam Lootah told Khaleej Times in an exclusive interview. “The robust infrastructure built over the past 20 years is undergoing its truest test in the times we face today. due to the country’s eagerness to embrace technology and ensure all dubai government services are digitally provided, today all entities have uninterrupted interaction with all residents and visitors.”
Smart dubai’s government resources planning system covers all human resources, procurement, financing and internal accounts functions for over 71,000 dubai government employees from 71 government entities.
“We have been working with all our government partners to completely digitise all government to individual transactions. These services are now being provided 100 per cent digitally on our flagship dubaiNow app, which today hosts over 120 government and private sector services from over 30 different entities,” added Lootah.
Smart dubai is developing governance frameworks, building infrastructure and architecture, and encouraging public and private sector collaboration to build a holistic data ecosystem in dubai, ensuring they extract the maximum value out of the data available in our city.
“an ecosystem is all about connecting and creating opportunities for value creation — which include jobs and income, as well as the innovation that comes along with it,” added Lootah.
