sharjah — Sharjah recently launched a series of 16 e-booklets on staying safe in school in the time of Covid-19. Tailored to the daily new-normal routines of students, parents and teachers, the comprehensive guide lists out the precautions that must be taken on the campus and beyond.

The awareness series is a project of the Health Promotion Department (HPD) at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, in cooperation with Sharjah Private Education Authority.

Available in Arabic and English, the booklets are divided into eight sections, covering topics that ranged from preventive guides for parents and students to getting to know the signs and symptoms associated with Covid-19.

A section is dedicated to boosting immunity, and another for healthy recipes and lunch boxes. Readers will also get some advice on how to help safeguard public health during distance learning.

Iman Rashid Saif, director of HPD, explained that with this epublication, students, parents and the school community will have a clear guide on the steps they need to follow — whether at home, on the school bus or on campus — to prevent Covid-19 infection.

“The updated guidelines in these booklets would help strengthen the commitment of students, parents, teaching and administrative staff to following the precautionary measures,” Saif said.

Our goal is to encourage healthy lifestyles and develop a healthy and safe school environment.” Iman Rashid Saif, director, Health Promotion Department
