Forum to show best ways to teach Holy Quran remotely

dubai — The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai is set to run an online global forum that will show the best practices in Quranic education.

Dr Omar Muhammad Al Khatib, executive director of the Islamic Affairs Sector and general coordinato­r of the platform, said one of the most important goals of the forum is to present the most advanced practices in delivering lessons remotely.

Titled ‘Dubai Platform for Best Practices in the Service of the Holy Quran’, the forum will be held on December 10. Highlighti­ng the different fields related to the understand­ing of the Holy Quran, it will allow regional entities to share their positive experience­s in teaching Islamic sciences.

AD, said the platform would also highlight the fact that Dubai has become the leading city in promoting and teaching the Holy Quran.

“The forum aims to display how best practices and use of advanced technology has helped in furthering the education of the Holy Quran,” Al Shaibani said.

Held under the slogan ‘Future of Quranic education’, the platform will focus on three main areas: Use of technology in providing

Quran education remotely; challenges faced in remotely teaching Quran studies; and exploring the future of Quranic education.

Hamad Muhammad Al Khazraji, director of Maktoum Holy Quran Memorisati­on Centres and member of the platform’s Supreme Committee, indicated that the platform is aimed at raising the level of performanc­e of Holy Quran memorisati­on centres.
