Bakhtawar Bhutto gets engaged to businessman
karachi — Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, the daughter of former president Asif Ali Zardari and late prime minister Benazir Bhutto, got engaged to Mahmood Choudhry in Karachi on Saturday.
Mahmood Choudhry is the son of USbased businessman Younas Choudhry.
The ceremony took place in the open area of Bilawal House, with Bakhtawar’s father, Asif Ali Zardari, and her sister Aseefa in attendance, Dawn News reported.
Her brother PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari joined the celebrations through video link as he tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week and is in self-isolation.
Bakhtawar shared a picture of her and her fiancé Mahmood Choudhry, with a portrait of her late mother Benazir Bhutto in the background, on social media.
After the engagement, the couple will also be hosting a mehndi reception, scheduled for January 27, 2021, at the same venue — and all attendees have been requested to email a scanned copy of their negative Covid-19 PCR test result 24 hours prior to the event.
Bakhtawar shared her sentiments in a tweet ahead of her engagement.
“Very sentimental and emotional day. So grateful for everyone’s love and prayers. Especially our PPP family whom I know are eager to participate. InshAllah this is only the beginning — will be able to celebrate in a post Covid world. Please keep SMBB and our family in your prayers,” she wrote.
According the Dawn News report, Mahmood Choudhry is the son of Mohammed Younas Choudhry and Begum Suraiya Choudhry who hail from the old town of Lahore. — Agencies
