QUICK GUIDE TO TRAVEL REGULATION­S IN INDIA

DELHI

>> Pre-arrival: All travellers must submit self-declaratio­n form online at www.newdelhiai­rport.in before the scheduled travel and will be required to declare their travel history (of past 14 days)

>> On arrival: All travellers will be subject to self-paid molecular tests on arrival

>> Quarantine: Passengers would be required to stay under home quarantine for seven days. They will be tested again after seven days and, if found negative, will be released from quarantine.

MAHARASHTR­A

>> Pre-arrival: All internatio­nal passengers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report issued within 72 hours of departure on the Air Suvidha portal. There is no need for testing at the airport if final destinatio­n is Maharashtr­a. >> On arrival: All passengers must submit an undertakin­g form on the Air Suvidha portal, agreeing to undergo mandatory seven days of institutio­nal quarantine at their own expense, followed by seven days of home quarantine with self-monitoring of health.

>> Quarantine: It is mandatory for passengers arriving in Mumbai from the UAE (with a destinatio­n within Maharashtr­a) to undergo seven days’ institutio­nal quarantine in a hotel or at a quarantine centre. They will have to undergo a self-paid test on the Day 7 of quarantine.

KERALA

>> Pre-travel: All passengers are advised to register on the https://covid19jag­ratha.kerala.nic./portal. Apart from this, passengers should register on Air Suvidha at least 72 hours before the journey.

>> On arrival: Testing at Kerala’s airports is free of cost

>> Quarantine: All passengers have to undergo 14 days of quarantine. Home quarantine is permitted for asymptomat­ic passengers. They can be tested on the seventh day after arrival and if tested negative, further quarantine of seven days is optional and not mandatory. Those who don’t get tested would be advised to continue on quarantine for the remaining seven days and complete a total of 14 days in quarantine.

KARNATAKA

>> Arrival: All passengers arriving at the airport will be screened for symptoms of Covid-19. Symptomati­c passengers will be segregated and sent for testing.

>> Quarantine: If tested negative, you will be advised to complete home/institutio­nal quarantine for 14 days. If tested positive, based on the severity of your symptoms, you will either be asked to undergo home/ institutio­nal quarantine or shifted to a government or private Covid hospital. Asymptomat­ic passengers will be advised to complete home/institutio­nal quarantine for 14 days.

Afemale Emirati professor at the UAE University in Al Ain has been named the best university professor in the country. She has been recognised for her dedication in teaching students and research work on current societal issues.

Dr Badreya Al Jenaibi, from the Department of Media and Creative Industries, won this year’s Emirates Award organised by the Ministry of Education. Overall, she has bagged more than 28 awards in teaching and community service.

“I feel honoured for my work. This award means a real and objective evaluation from the government,” she told Khaleej Times on Monday.

Al Jenaibi has been teaching university students for the last 12 years. She has taught and graded her students even as she availed of maternity and sick leaves.

“I am keen on using good methodolog­y and unique course preparatio­n style to achieve the best outcomes. I use technology in the classroom, including social media, blackboard, iPad, Powerpoint, etc,” she said.

In her award category, the judges evaluated the nominees in three areas: Teaching, scholarshi­p and community service. She received ‘excellent’ in all categories.

The mother of five has created multiple new educationa­l courses at her university. She has volunteere­d for several causes, and opened multiple sections for special needs students. She has encouraged her students to participat­e in on-campus activities and workshops. She organised the ‘First Media Exhibition’ that encouraged student work through certificat­es and awards. In all, Al Jenaibi has published 58 papers and presented 33 conference papers.—
