MORE REASONS TO VISIT KHOR FAKKAN
Al Suhub Rest Area, the latest tourism project in Khor Fakkan inaugurated on Thursday by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The circular structure has a restaurant and a cafe that can accommodate 88 visitors in the inner hall and 48 in the outer balcony, while the basement contains a multipurpose hall and separate prayer rooms for men and women.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on Thursday inaugurated Al Subub Rest Area, the latest tourism project in Khor Fakkan, located 600 metres above sea level.
After the inauguration, Sheikh Dr Sultan toured the project on the modern road. The 6.5km road leading to Al Suhub area has two lanes for going up and one lane for descending.
Engineer Salah Bin Butti Al Muhairi, Head of the Initiatives Implementation Authority “Mubadara” briefed Sheikh Dr Sultan about the two-floor building that has a total area of 2,788sqm. The ground floor includes a restaurant and a cafe that can accommodate 88 visitors in the inner hall and 48 in the outer balcony, while the basement contains a multi-purpose hall, separate prayer rooms for men and women, washrooms, and service and administrative facilities.
Al Suhub Rest Area, which was implemented on an area of 10,250sq.m, has a lot of green spaces, with 8,700 trees. For children, there is a play area surrounded by a variety of plants and trees. The Ruler of Sharjah concluded his tour by inaugurating a 3km mountain path connecting Al Suhub Rest Area with Al Rafisah Dam.
The path provides a unique experience for adventure lovers to get their adrenaline pumping and provides a spectacular view of the Khor Fakkan mountains. — Wam
