UNUSUAL LIFESTYLE PROGRAMMES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
GEOMAGNETIC VORTEX DESERT SPA
Those seeking physical and spiritual healing flock to this acoustically perfect tabernacle and energy machine, which sits on a powerful geomagnetic vortex in the Mohave Desert in the US. The Sound Bath is a 60-minute sonic healing session where a sequence of quartz crystal singing bowls are played, each one keyed to the energy centres or chakras of the body. The intended results? Waves of peace, heightened awareness and relaxation. The Integratron website quotes lead vocalist of the Fleet Foxes, Robin Pecknold, who says, “The notes sound like they’re coming from inside your mind. It was the closest thing to a psychedelic experience I’ve ever had.”
THE MIRAVAL EQUINE EXPERIENCE
Working with Wyatt Webb, bestselling author of It’s Not About the Horse, on his Equine Experience Immersion programme, you will learn how to “rediscover the life you were meant to lead”. The horse acts as a mirror that allows you to identify patterns of learnt behaviour that either enhance or detract from your quality of life. Visitors spend around six hours a day working with the horses to gain greater self awareness, challenge learnt behaviours, correct false beliefs and rediscover their authentic self.
ZAREEBA, REGENT PALMS TURKS & CAICOS
A Jamaican treatment with an Arabic name, Zareeba, meaning “protected enclosure”, was specifically created by a Caribbean herbalist for the Regent Palms Turks & Caicos. Thirteen herbs, including eucalyptus, pimento, basil and lemon grass, are carefully hand-picked before being boiled for an hour to create a cleansing potion. All you have to do is sit in your private wooden pod and stir the therapeutic brew for 30 minutes, while inhaling the aromatic healing steam. The process is followed by a cooling wrap and a 50-minute lymphatic drainage massage to complete the purification process and eradicate toxins.
DREAM INTERPRETATION, CAESARS PALACE
Located in the Augustus Tower of the somewhat garish Caesars Palace, Qua Baths and Spa features 51 treatment rooms, including seven facial rooms, three private couples studios, wet rooms with Vichy showers, a separate men’s area and barber spa, a crystal body art room, personal hydrotherapy tubs, a cedarwood sauna and a herbal steam room. One of its most popular treatments, the Dream Interpretation Journey, offers the opportunity to work with a trained dream coach (a clinical psychologist) who, by using Jungian archetypes that derive from the collective unconscious, helps visitors to understand the meaning behind their dreams and guide them to a deeper self-awareness through extensive counselling modalities.
