Al­ways a hot­bed of all things beau­ti­ful, the UAE is stocked with po­tent cos­met­ics from all man­ner of luxe brands. Ash­ley Lane rounds up the lat­est launches

1 Christian Louboutin Nail Pol­ish

It was a stroke of red nail pol­ish that in­spired Christian Louboutin to cre­ate what is now the iconic “red sole”. And with Louboutin’s lat­est beauty launch – a new line of nail var­nishes – it seems the story of the red sole has come full cir­cle. The range comes in a va­ri­ety of colours, which has been split into three fam­i­lies: the Pops, the Noirs and the Nudes. Each var­nish comes in a moulded glass bot­tle, de­signed to “evoke a shiny lac­quer im­pris­oned in a piece of faceted crys­tal”, ac­cord­ing to Louboutin. The new line is cur­rently avail­able in Christian Louboutin bou­tiques around the Mid­dle East.

2 Dolce & Gab­bana Skin­care

Dolce & Gab­bana has part­nered with the sci­en­tists over at P&G Pres­tige to cre­ate its first-ever skin­care line-up. The col­lec­tion is di­vided into two lines: Es­sen­tial, which is meant to pu­rify, per­fect and pro­tect the skin, and an ad­vanced treat­ment line, Aure­alux, to hydrate and re­veal nat­u­ral skin ra­di­ance. Both lines utilise a new ac­tive com­plex called Gold Flavo-Silk Tri­com­plex, which con­sists of a mix of amino acids, polypep­tides and vi­ta­min B3, and mois­turises the skin while evenly defin­ing skin tone. The col­lec­tion com­prises creams, serums, masks, cleans­ing so­lu­tions, ex­fo­lia­tors and ton­ers, and will be avail­able in the UAE at Har­vey Ni­chols in Mall of the Emi­rates and Paris Gallery at The Dubai Mall, as of Novem­ber.

3 Gucci Cos­met­ics

The newly launched Gucci Cos­met­ics col­lec­tion has been cre­ated to de­liver ideal tech­ni­cal per­for­mance while com­ple­ment­ing Gucci’s sig­na­ture pal­ette of colours and house mo­tifs. The line-up in­cludes Gucci Eye, Gucci Face, Gucci Lip and Gucci Nail, to­gether with brushes and spe­cial prepa­ra­tion prod­ucts for the skin. The make-up artist Pat McGrath, who co-en­gi­neered the cre­ation of the col­lec­tion, pur­posely de­signed the cos­met­ics so that they would fit in a pro­fes­sional make-up artist’s kit, but also act as a woman’s every­day beauty prod­uct, aim­ing for a look that is both pro­fes­sional and per­son­alised. Gucci Cos­met­ics is cur­rently avail­able in stores around the UAE.

4 Priti NYC

The mis­sion of Priti NYC, when launched by the Amer­i­can model Kim D’Amato in 2005, was to support or­ganic farm­ers and to de­crease the amount of chem­i­cals “poi­son­ing the Earth”. D’Amato was also preg­nant at the time and was in search of preg­nancy-friendly beauty items, which were few and far be­tween. The non-toxic, ve­g­an­friendly lux­ury nail pol­ish line has just be­come avail­able in the UAE and comes in 100 dif­fer­ent shades, in­clud­ing metallics, mat­tes, neons and clas­sic nudes. 5 Oribe Hair Care

The hairstylist Oribe, known for pi­o­neer­ing the fa­mous “di­shev­elled” hair look on the run­way and the belief that you can never have enough vol­ume, launched Oribe Hair Care in 2008 – and his ex­ten­sive line of prod­ucts has re­cently be­come avail­able in the UAE. The hair-care line, which Oribe de­signed to pro­vide “old-world hairstyling, sup­ported by new-world tech­nol­ogy”, of­fers an as­sort­ment of prod­ucts, from sham­poos, con­di­tion­ers and masques, as well as styling prod­ucts and tools, for a va­ri­ety of hair types and needs. The Oribe Hair Care line is stocked ex­clu­sively at Har­vey Ni­chols, Dubai.

6 UberCos­met­ics

UberCos­met­ics is now of­fer­ing its eyelash- and eye­brow-en­hanc­ing prod­ucts in the UAE. Uber­lash, a growth serum that both length­ens and strength­ens lashes, helps to in­ten­sify lash ap­pear­ance by thick­en­ing the lash di­am­e­ter and boost­ing vol­ume and length while stim­u­lat­ing fol­li­cle cells to pro­mote new hair growth. For thicker brows, UberCos­met­ics of­fers Uber­brow, which prom­ises to dra­mat­i­cally in­crease the ap­pear­ance of brow vol­ume, thick­ness and def­i­ni­tion within two weeks.
