METROJET CRASH INVESTIGATED
CAIRO // Russian and German experts arrived in the Egyptian capital yesterday to inspect the wreckage of a Metrojet plane downed over Sinai, hoping to pinpoint how it came apart. ISIL claimed responsibility for bombing the plane carrying Russian holidaymakers last October, killing all 224 people on board. The wreckage has been moved to Cairo airport and will be pieced together “to determine the starting point for the [plane’s] disintegration”, the aviation ministry said. The bombing prompted Russia to suspend flights to Egypt. – AFP
