Sheikh Mohammed holds talks with heads of three countries

Improving trade and tourism ties on top of discussion­s

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed Horacio Cartes, president of Paraguay, Filip Vujanovic, president of Montenegro, and Luis Guillermo Solis, president of Costa Rica, at his palace in Zabeel yesterday. Sheikh Mohammed, along with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Du- bai, discussed with Mr Cartes issues related to co-operation between the UAE and Paraguay, including the developmen­t of economic, investment and tourism opportunit­ies, and encouragin­g the private sector in both countries to establish joint investment­s.

During his talks with Mr Vujanovic, Sheikh Mohammed discussed relations between the UAE and Montenegro, including partnershi­ps between the two countries, particular­ly in the private sector. Sheikh Mohammed and president of Costa Rica exchanged views on prospects of economic, investment and tourism co-operation.

Mr Solis invited Sheikh Mohammed to visit Costa Rica, which he accepted with a promise to fulfil at the right time. Sheikh Mohammed also stressed the importance of establishi­ng balanced ties with the three countries, while promoting communicat­ion and developing co-operation in the fields of tourism, energy, real estate and transport, among others.

The presidents of Paraguay, Montenegro and Costa Rica lauded the UAE’s leading position in sectors such as clean energy, infrastruc­ture, tourism and urban developmen­t, reported Wam, the state news agency.
