FIVE-HOUR RESCUE FOR WORKER IN PIT
A worker who fell into a pit was saved after a five-hour rescue operation by Dubai Police. Rescue teams carefully dug the man out as water and stones fell around him into the pit in Al Barsha 4. The incident was reported to police at 8.15pm on Monday, said Lt Col Ahmed Bourguiba, deputy director of the search and rescue department. Capt Abdullah Al Rahoumi led the rescue team. “The running water in the pit made it difficult to reach the trapped victim and slowed down the rescue operation,” he said. Paramedics treated the worker for minor injuries.
