JAIL FOR TWO WHO STOLE FROM CAFE

Two men who broke into a Starbucks cafe on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai and stole Dh18,000 in January have each been sentenced to a year in jail. A Yemeni, 24, and an Uzbek, 28, denied the charges of stealing and damaging property. At 6.30am on January 6, the manager of the Starbucks cafe arrived to find the main door smashed and the safe damaged. The accused were arrested shortly afterwards, said a police lieutenant. The two convicts will be deported after serving their sentence.
