FOOTBALLER HELD IN TURKEY INQUIRY

ISTANBUL // Turkish police yesterday detained international footballer Ozan Tufan and others in an investigation into the illegal import of luxury cars, state media said. Prosecutors in the Istanbul district of Bakirkoy issued 46 arrest warrants for suspects, including Tufan, the state-run Anadolu news agency said. Tufan, 22, and others were held at their homes. Anadolu said the investigation concerned the smuggling of vehicles. Since 2014, Tufan has made over 30 senior appearances for his country after coming up through the ranks. – AFP
