CREAMFIELDS ABU DHABI: THE BIG NAMES TO CATCH

-

Deadmau5

The Canadian producer and DJ, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, has always had an adventurous spirit when it comes to his brand of progressive house music. Albums such 2009’s For Lack of a Better Name and last year’s W:/2016ALBUM/ saw him blending futuristic sounds with analogue synths in rhythmic, hypnotic tracks. Performing with his signature giant mask and backed by awe-inspiring visuals, there is always a lot to hear and see when Deadmau5 is behind the decks.

Axwell Ingrosso

When the UAE has a big party, the Swedish duo are often in the mix. Their last performance was December’s New Year’s Eve bash at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, and they returned to the emirate in April to launch superclub Base. Compromised of DJs Axwell and Ingrosso – who both also have successful solo careers – the duo’s brand of progressive and bigroom house should be the most accessible of the night. Expect a lot of singalongs when their hit dance anthems Sun is Shining and More Than You Know blare out of the megasized arena speakers on Friday night.

Above & Beyond

The English trio look more like mad professors than a successful dance-music crew, but nearly 20 years since forming, Above & Beyond continue to command large crowds with their eclectic sounds, featuring trance, deep house and electro. They will return to the capital on the back of a smattering of new songs, including the euphoric Tightrope and groove-ridden My Own Hymn, which are slated to appear on the group’s sixth album, Common Ground, when it is released next month.
