Last cool weekend of the season
This weekend is likely to be the last cool one of the winter as temperatures look likely to rise steadily from Sunday.
The National Centre of Meteorology forecast pleasant conditions with maximum highs of 30°C on the coast and 34°C inland, with temperatures dipping to as low as 11°C in the evenings.
Friday will begin with a chill in the air to the joy of early risers and runners, but that is likely to be replaced with clammier conditions in the coming days.
Global forecaster Accuweather forecast highs of 29°C to 30°C on Friday but said that would give way to “blazing hot” sunshine and highs of 35°C by Sunday.
Light to moderate winds will keep conditions cool as clouds form over the eastern part of the country on Friday and Saturday.
Relative humidity will rise in the evenings and mornings, the NCM said. The humidity is expected to condense and cause fog early in the mornings with the NCM warning of visibility being reduced to a kilometre in some areas.
The waters of the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will be moderately calm over the next three days, the weather centre said, after rough seas and waves last week.
