The Address Downtown Dubai reopens after 2015 New Year’s Eve fire
The Address Downtown Dubai hotel has reopened to guests, almost 30 months after a fire extensively damaged the property.
The building, part of Emaar Hospitality Group’s Address Hotels and Resorts brand, has long been one of the emirate’s most popular options for travellers.
But it has not been fully operational since New Year’s Eve 2015 when an electrical fault set the 63-storey tower ablaze, injuring 15 people.
It was announced yesterday that the 220-room property was now taking bookings.
“Address Downtown holds a very special place in the hearts of all discerning travellers and guests,” said Olivier Harnisch, chief executive of Emaar Hospitality Group
“Defined by its central location overlooking Burj Khalifa, the hotel has consistently secured the world’s leading tourism and hospitality awards.
“The hotel will continue to uphold its distinctive positioning of ‘where life happens’.”
The hotel reopens with new features including a fresh interior and The Galliard, which will serve French, Spanish and Turkish food. Another offering will be a branch of STK steakhouse, the second branch for the emirate. Neos, the lounge bar on the 63rd floor, has also been revamped.
Room rates start from about Dh1,000 per night.
