Emirati father of nine dies in Fujairah house fire
An Emirati father of nine died in a house fire in Al Faseel, Fujairah, on Thursday.
Fahad Al Mismari, 39, was asleep with his wife in the master bedroom when the fire started some time before 2.45am. Police said he was asphyxiated by the smoke.
His wife, also in her 30s, suffered from smoke inhalation and was sent to Fujairah hospital.
The rescue team saved nine children and two housemaids who were in the house at the time of the fire.
It was the second fire in Al Faseel this week, after one

that claimed the life of a seven-month-old baby boy.
The baby suffered severe burns in a house fire and died after being taken to hospital.
Brig Ali Al Taniji, director of Fujairah Civil Defence, said that firefighters managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the house.
Investigations are continuing to find the cause of the fire.
The funeral for Mr Al Mismari was held on Thursday after dhuhr prayers at Abu Bakar Al Siddique mosque in Fujairah, and he was buried at Al Ghurfa Cemetery.
Brig Al Taniji urged members of the community to install smoke detectors in their homes to avoid similar accidents.
The director also advised members of the public to check the quality of their wiring and electronic devices before using them.
