Dubai Investment­s big on Kenya industry expo

Dubai Investment­s, a diversifie­d company in which sovereign wealth fund Investment Corporatio­n of Dubai has a stake, brought five of its subsidiari­es to The Big 5 Construct East Africa, this week’s biennial industry expo in Nairobi, Kenya. Emirates Building Systems, Emirates Extruded Polystyren­e, Dubai Cranes, Labtec and Emirates Extrusion Factory participat­ed to demonstrat­e interest in the African constructi­on market. The 2017 edition of Deloitte’s Africa Constructi­on Trends report shows that government and private sector are driving constructi­on projects across the continent, with 303 projects valued at $50 million or above having broken ground by June 2017. In total, these projects are worth $307 billion. “The African market offers genuine opportunit­y for growth,” said Abdulaziz Bin Yagub Al Serkal, general manager of Dubai Investment­s.
