SHEIKH MOHAMED ANNOUNCES KEY LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENTS

President Sheikh Mohamed has named Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed as Vice President and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, in a series of major appointments.
Sheikh Mansour will serve alongside Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
In his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed issued decrees naming Sheikh Khaled as Crown Prince and appointing Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed and Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed as Deputy Rulers.
Sheikh Mohamed also issued an Emiri decree to restructure the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, with Sheikh Khaled as Chairman.
Sheikh Mohammed last night posted a message on Twitter to congratulate the leaders on their roles. “In you and your brothers, the leaders of the new generation, the march continues,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
Sheikh Mohamed issued the resolution to appoint Sheikh Mansour as Vice President with the “approval of the UAE Federal Supreme Council”, Wam reported.
Sheikh Mansour has served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, as well as holding several key positions in business and Abu Dhabi’s wealth funds. As chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, he led an overhaul of the country’s civic, family and personal status laws.
Sheikh Mansour also led the country’s Emiratisation programme as head of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council.
Sheikh Khaled, the President’s eldest son, has also served as Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office.
Sheikh Tahnoun has served as National Security Adviser and in several senior positions in some of Abu Dhabi’s largest state-linked companies.
Sheikh Hazza holds several roles in government, sports clubs and business.
