Hogmanay celebration Edinburgh, Scotland

New Year will be celebrated all over the planet, but there’s something special about seeing in 2017 in the Scottish capital. There will be gigs and events over the three days (including Paolo Nutini and The Charlatans) but really, it’s all about the huge outdoor street party as people from all over the world gather in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle for food and drinks culminating, at midnight, with a fireworks display above the castle and Calton Hill. Then you get to join in with the world’s biggest and loudest rendition of Auld Lang Syne. December 30, 2016, to January 1, 2017
