What's On (Abu Dhabi)

EDITOR’S LETTER

HHave you ever read the famous children’s book We’re Going

On A Bear Hunt? It contains the legendary line, ‘We’re going on an adventure.’ This month in What’s On we have plenty of adventures for you to go on, although none of them involve bears, which, to be honest, is probably a good thing.

It does though cover activities that adrenaline junkies will love such as indoor skydiving, barefoot skiing (that’s basically the same as waterskiing, but just using your feet), mountain biking and free-running. They all prove once again that you need never suffer a dull moment while living in the nation’s capital.

Also this month, the Red Bull Air Race returns to the Corniche and we have yet another foodie event, the Love Food Festival, taking place in Al Ain and at Umm Al Emarat Park. The city’s obsession with food trucks is in full effect for the event, with dishes from the US, UK, Asia and the UAE available. I’m looking forward to trying the baby octopus robata-yaki at one truck called Sushi And Seoul. Curiously, they’re not from Japan or Korea, but Orlando.

So what else do we have for you? Swimming, running and cycling at TriYas, the best places to take a loved one this Valentine’s Day, a celebrity golf tournament and a guide to the tastiest afternoon teas in the emirate. Put simply, February is a busy one. Enjoy the issue.
