Bar supervisor, Puesta Del Sol

Puesta Del Sol is different from other bars. It is located inside a pier, so it feels like I’m working on an island surrounded by water. There’s an awesome breeze, lighting and music – plus I get to watch the sunset every day.

I served Bollywood celebrities like Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan when I worked in Dubai. Being an Indian I grew up watching their movies, so it was amazing to see them in front of me and to serve them.

I love drinking Irish coffee these days since it’s nice and cold outside, and this keeps me warm. A drink should be something that fits the mood and the moment.

No drink is hard to make but some are time consuming, and need extra care when mixing the ingredients using herbs and spices. These can be tricky, and are normally my cocktail competition recipes.

If I weren’t a bartender I would have joined the Indian Navy. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the right grades, so I fell in love with drinks instead.

I can’t think of any overrated cocktail or drink. They all have a place, time and reason. They can be crafted with thought and care. What is overrated is taking a twist on a classic and saying it’s brand new.
