The high-energy fitness studio favoured by celebrities arrives in Dubai

-

Who’s Barry? Be prepared to find out, when his bootcamp lands in Dubai this month. The fitness studio, revered in its American homeland, comes complete with highenergy music and flashing lights, which typically spotlight on very sweaty yet adoring fans. For these reasons, it’s constantly compared to a nightclub rather than a fitness studio. That’s exactly what Barry’s has built its trademarked “best workout in the world” empire on.

Debuting in California in 1998, Barry’s Bootcamp spread quickly across the US and England. Each day focuses on a different body part; on a Monday you might be working out your abs, while on Tuesday you’ll be squatting your way to better legs. And let’s not forget the true selling point of a Barry’s Bootcamp class – a one-hour class is said to burn up to 1,000 calories. Barry’s signature method relies on high-intensity training, with 25 to 30 minutes of interval-based cardio routines on a treadmill, and 25 to 30 minutes of strength training using free weights or resistance bands. Introductory classes cost Dhs80 and the studio will be located at DIFC.
