HE SAID WHAT?

-

ON HIS CRITICS:

“There’s always going to be someone out there who doesn’t like what you do, doesn’t like your style, your face. That’s part of life. But I feed off that. I don’t think I’d be where I am today if it wasn’t for that. It puts a little fire in the belly, keeps me going so I can prove so many people wrong.”

ON TV:

“I lost The X Factor, and I lost Deal Or No Deal twice. I’m good at losing TV game shows.” ON CREDIBILITY: “All I ever wanted was to be an established artist and have people say, ‘You’re part of the furniture.’ not just part of the furniture. something that people love having in their furniture. You want to be taken seriously, you don’t just want to be the guy in the hat who did X Factor.”

ON SONGWRITING:

“Flaws is a song I’m really proud of. I know in my ex-relationship I wasn’t perfect. I did cause arguments. she caused arguments. We all have things that we don’t like about each other. But on that song, instead of pointing the finger at her, I’m pointing it at myself and saying ‘I’m not great. I’ve let myself down’.”

ON COLLABORATION:

“I’d love to work with Pharrell Williams or Timbaland, that would be amazing. I’d like to do a dance record, that would be quite cool – a David Guetta-style song, or calvin Harris. You never know. I never like to predict what I’m going to do.” ON TALENT SHOW CONTESTANTS: “Before they do American Idol or X Factor, people are more worried about contracts and what they get from it, and I think they’re missing the point of what this job’s all about. It’s not about money and contracts, it’s about music. contracts are contracts, but a contract means nothing if you’re not delivering good music or producing hits.”
