So were you a Spider-Man fan as a kid?

“Huge. I reckon I had 30 SpiderMan costumes over the years since I was a little baby. I had Spider-Man bed sheets. Two years ago, I went to a fancy dress party dressed as Spider-Man and looked like an absolute idiot.”

How did you find out you were Spider-Man?

“After my final audition they said you’ll find out tomorrow. Fast forward six weeks and I was still waiting. One day Marvel posted on their Instagram, ‘Go to our website to find out who the new Spider-Man is,’ and that was it. I went ballistic!”

Did a stuntman really punch you in the face?

“Yeah, I was supposed to dodge [the stuntman’s punch] and I just didn’t see it coming. He had this massive gauntlet in his hand and he punched me in the face so hard, like you wouldn’t believe. But it looks great!”
