GREAT FOR VEGANS My wife and I are both vegan, so we like to go to Tawa Bakery (01) in Al Muneera because it serves great dishes, including a vegan burger. For our weekly shop we always go to Spinneys at Al Forsan (02) – the fruit and veg is always fresh there. We both love PF Chang’s (03). We’re both into healthy eating, so this is where we go once a week for a treat. I have the Emperor’s Feast, a veggie dish that is just vegetables and tofu in a delicious sauce. The selection of malls here is a plus for me and my favourite is Yas Mall (04), simply because of the variety of shops inside. My go-to places are Asics, Under Armour and Oakley. When I’m not working, I love to cycle. It’s my main passion away from work and the scene here has grown massively in the past six years. I love the facility at Al Wathba (05) – there’s 96km of track out there and it offers several loops, meaning its good for cyclists of all abilities and it’s also car free and safe. There’s an Adnoc shop to fuel up with a coffee and a Be Sport bike shop next to it, in case you need to get your bike fixed. I ride for the team at Yas Cycles and also go on rides with Raha Cycling. I like to swim and regularly visit the Olympic-sized pool at the Armed Forces Officers’ Club And Hotel (06), near the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. I go here for a Sunday evening swim, with coaching provided by the Abu Dhabi Triathlon Club. I also enjoy Al Bateen public beach (07), which is free, and it’s great to swim here in the safety lane or just soak up the tranquil turquoise waters. Finally, I’m naming a place I’ve yet to visit – Louvre Abu Dhabi (08). It’s on our list of things to do this year.
