Lil’ Tots baby meal plan

A meal delivery service that makes healthy weaning easy

-

With it being UAE Mother’s Day this month, you may want to hint at this as the perfect gift. Lil’ Tots is a wellbeing double-whammy: lighten your emotional load by taking away the stress of cooking for your child, and give them a nutritious meal full of all the vitamins they need at the same time.

We tried it out for a week using foodloving 10-month-old baby Amelie as the official What’s On taste tester. Ordering is easy – you simply select the age of your child, the texture they like, how adventurous they are with food, and list any allergies. Choose your delivery slot, et voila! They do the rest.

Amelie likes to pick up food and feed herself, as well as being spoon fed, so we opted to have food delivered whole. There was always something for her to hold and chew so she at least felt a sense of independent eating while being fed.

The dishes were so delicious that we actually ended up polishing off anything she didn’t eat – stuffed marrows, vegetable shepherd’s pie, white fish risotto… it made our standard spaghetti dinner look very unappealing. What’s more, as you get a main meal and dessert, such as a yoghurt and fruit compote, there’s actually a lot of food. Although we ordered the smallest lunch portion size, we had almost enough food to do lunch and dinner, if we just added a little something extra to the evening meal. This actually makes it pretty cost effective.

The best thing about the week was being able to try lots of new things – we now know that she loves fish! Our only small downside is that the meals come in plastic tubs, however, we’ve washed them out and find them very handy for putting snacks in when we’re out and about. Overall, it gets a big thumbs up from us and, most importantly, a big thumbs up from baby Amelie.
