Passenger performs at Dubai Opera this month
ritish singer-songwriter Michael Rosenberg, more commonly known as Passenger, returns to Dubai, bringing his soulful folk-rock tunes to the stage of Dubai Opera for a matinee and evening performance on December 4.
Renowned for his expressive lyrics and impassioned vocals, it’s hard to believe the singer was once a struggling musician whose solo career began in 2009 as a busker on the street corners of Britain following the split of his band. However, Rosenberg’s humble origins were soon transformed to worldwide success following the release of his 2012 multi-award winning single, Let Her Go, which took him from the streets to international stadia. His melancholic ballad achieved global success, reaching number one in 19 countries and to date has accumulated a staggering 2.8 billion views on YouTube. The smash hit also earned Passenger a Brit Award nomination for British Single of the Year in 2014 and won him the Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work soon after.
Although there is no doubt that Passenger will be performing this soulful hit on stage, he will also be performing a selection of songs from his 12th studio album, Sometimes It’s
Something, Sometimes It’s Nothing at All, which sees him accompanied by a string quartet.
As the show will be socially distanced, spaces are limited, so fans will need to be quick to get their hands on tickets, which are on sale now.
