Quebec Winter Carnival

The Mardi Gras of snow and ice, this carnival has been taking place each year since 1955 and is now the largest winter carnival in the world. Events throughout the celebration include the international snow sculpture contest, a big ice palace, various winter and traditional Quebec activities such as dogsled and canoe races along the freezing St Lawrence River.
